We are very pleased to confirm the Health Aotearoa 2020 conference (formerly WONCA Asia Pacific) will be held at Auckland’s Aotea Centre from 5 – 7 November 2020.
Health Aotearoa 2020 is being hosted by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, the New Zealand Rural General Practice Network, and Te Ohu Rata o Aotearoa - Māori Medical Practitioners Association.
Health Aotearoa 2020 will be one of the few health sector conferences to be held in person this year, so we are expecting a large gathering of health care delegates.
The organising committee is working hard to finalise the programme and will be releasing information on this as soon as possible, however we are delighted to have received early and enthusiastic confirmation of keynote presentations from:
- Elizabeth Iro (World Health Organisation’s Chief Nursing Officer)
- Prof Trish Greenhalgh (Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford)
- Dr James Renwick (Weather and climate researcher).
The theme of the new conference will overlap significantly with what was previously planned for WONCA Asia Pacific but with an increased focus on the future of our health system.
As the conference takes place after New Zealand’s general election, amidst our COVID-19 response, and against a backdrop of the Health and Disability System Review there will be much to share and learn.
Rachel Cook (conference organiser) email@example.com will be in contact with all our abstract presenters and delegates within the next two weeks to provide further information about their attendance and conference details.
We will be updating this website as more information and detail is available.
